VOLUNTEERS ARE ON CALL 24 HOURS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK "VOLUNTEER UPDATE" Our Update Program consists of personally contacting everyone on our Volunteer List. The program's purpose is to have a list of Active Volunteers that will provide accurate and updated information for our database. Calls are being made from the Rockingham County Red Cross office by members of the "VOLUNTEER SERVICES TEAM" , led by Carole Boice of Reidsville and Melissa Smith of Madison. Telephone contact will continue through the end of June. Anyone not reached by phone will receive a postcard requesting a call back to the office. The list of Active Volunteers will help us for future planning and volunteer recruitment. If you have volunteered previously and are not contacted by phone or a postcard by mid-July, please give the office a call. If you know of anyone interested in joining our Volunteer force please let us know. DID YOU KNOW... The Rockingham County American Red Cross goes to every single family fire in Rockingham County? We have an extraordinary group of volunteers, Disaster Action Team or D.A.T. who are on call 24/7. When there is a single family fire in Rockingham County each Fire Department city or county know to page our volunteers to help assist in the families immediate basic needs, food, clothing and shelter. We can not thank them enough for this selfless service they provide to our county. The American Red Cross has prepared information to help you and your family in the event of a disaster. People affected by a home fire need to know that they have a safe place to stay, food to eat, clothes to wear and if they need it, emotional support as they take the first steps to recovery. We have information here at the Rockingham County Chapter to help you to recover emotionally, helping your pets, and checking your home for damage. We also can assist you to recover vital documents and whom to contact about replacements for the following: Drivers License, Government Issued ID Insurance Policies Military Discharge Papers, Passports Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates Social Security Cards or Medicare Cards Credit Cards, Titles
